TERMS & CONDITIONS

  • Booking policy
    1. The client can book any of the boats listed in this website by paying online the 35% of the total amount for the services selected (not including fuel costs).
    2. Upon receiving the deposit, Calypso Yachting and/or the owner of the boat will contact the client via email to confirm the booking of the boat. The confirmation email may also contain more specific information about the boat, the payment of the balance and the pick-up location.
Important: In case of booking any of the catamaran boats on a weekly basis, special security deposit and damage waiver policies apply. More specific information to be sent upon booking.
    3. Calypso Yachting and/or the owner of the boat reserve the right to cancel the reservation within 24 hours after the initial booking. The client will be notified by email and an alternative date and time will be suggested. If shifting the reservation to another date is not possible (eg due to the client's departure), the amount paid will be immediately refunded.
    4. The reservation of the boat is made final only if the charter fee is paid in full (100%), the latest 30 days prior to the desired date for the charter. Therefore, the payment of the balance by the charterer must be effected the latest 30 days prior to the date of the charter.
    5. After the booking has been confirmed, the charter agreement will be concluded between the charterer and the owner of the boat.
    6. The boat is delivered to the charterer with the fuel tanks full. The fuel costs are not included in the rate. At the end of the charter period, the charterer will compensate Calypso Yachting for the fuel consumed, or pay the petrol company directly, if they are onsite for refueling.
    7. The cruising area is determined according to the weather conditions on the date and time of the charter.
  • Cancellation policy for daily charters
In the event of cancellation of the charter by the Charterer for any reason whatsoever, the following cancellation policy shall apply:

    • Cancellation fee of 20% of the total charter fee for reservations cancelled within a period of 90 days prior to the date of delivery.
    • Cancellation fee of 100% of the total charter fee for reservations cancelled within a period of 30 days prior to the date of delivery.

That means that if the client wishes to cancel the reservation, any amount paid is non-refundable for reservations confirmed at a time less than 30 days prior to the desired date for the charter.
Requests to change or cancel a reservation are made only via email communication.

  • Change of date and no-show
    1. Requests to change or reschedule a reservation are made only per email communication.
    2. When the client has paid any advance amount for the reservation of a boat and they do not show up within 1 (one) hour from the time agreed, Calypso Yachting has the right to hire the boat to another client. The reservation is not shifted to future time and any amount paid in advance will not be refunded.
    3. If the boat for which the reservation was made becomes unsuitable or unavailable for any reason whatsoever, Calypso Yachting undertakes to deliver another boat with similar features to replace the first one. If it is not possible to replace the boat, Calypso Yachting offers the charterer an alternative date and time for the charter. If it is still not possible to change the reservation date, then the amount paid in advance will be refunded to the charterer.
    4. In the event of early return of the boat, no refund is given. Calypso Yachting has the right to rehire the boat for the remainder of the charter period.
    5. If the boat is unable to return to base by fault of the charterer, the latter will pay all the expenses arising from the transport of the boat, as well as any lost income for as long as it takes for the return of the boat.
  • Embarkation restrictions
    1. Transportation by boat and sea tours are private. The charterer and people who join them will board the boat, but their number should not exceed the allowable number of passengers for each boat.
    2. People with serious health problems, women in advanced pregnancy stage or people with any other condition, which can be aggravated by using the boat, should avoid boarding the boat. Calypso Yachting may refuse boarding to such individuals for their safety. Infants and small children get on the boat under the responsibility of their parents, who must supervise them during the entire period of use of the boat.
    3. When circumstances so require (eg adverse weather conditions), Calypso Yachting may postpone or even cancel the itinerary for safety reasons. If no alternative can be found (eg due to the client's departure), any advance payment will be refunded. Otherwise, the cancellation policy as stated above shall apply.
    4. In the event of cancellation due to failure or bad weather, Calypso Yachting shall have no other obligation towards the charterer other than the refund of any down-payment.
    5. Boats are insured against third parties as prescribed by the law. Passengers must comply with the instructions of the operator aiming at their safety, and avoid actions or behaviors that endanger themselves or others. It is strictly prohibited to move around on the boat while cruising.
    6. Calypso Yachting bears no responsibility for any loss or damage to the belongings of the client or persons being onboard with their permission during the charter period.
